This story begins in a house in the wood. At the beginning an injured girl is being restrained in a basement in the house. People surrounds her and watches her plead for being innocent. They assume she is possessed by an evil entity so they tie her down, but as she tries to convince her father that she is normal, she slowly loses her mind and admits she is possessed, so the father (Jim McLarty) immolates and kills her. Some time later, Mia (Jane Levy), her brother David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore), their dog Grandpa and their friends Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) and Olivia (Jessica Lucas), stop by a cabin to help Mia because she has a heroin addiction. An odor that comes from the floor leads them to a hidden room, where they discover rotting animal corpses, a weapon and a book titled Naturom Demonto. Eric reads this book by curiosity, not knowing this book will be the beginning of a massacre. Mia thinks there was something unnatural in this house, and ask them to leave, but the group refuses, believing that she is suffering from withdrawal. Furious, because they don't believe her, she takes the group's car and leaves alone. On the way she crashed the car. She tries to return to the cabin, but on the way she encounters demonically possessed trees, which hold her captive. Afterwards, David and Olivia search for and find Mia and take her back to the cabin. Mia tells David that whatever attacked her in the woods is in the cabin with them, but he doesn't believe her and still thinks it's because of drug withdrawal. When Mia kills the dog, David walks in and sees her scalding herself in the shower. Eric recognizes this scene in the Naturom Demonto. David tries to drive her to a hospital, but flood waters block the road.
